African Diaspora refers to the forced scattering of Africans to the New World by means of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and colonization. As a result of the Diaspora, African descendants can be found in all parts of the Americas. All parts of the world. As citizens of the United States, we have a tendency to focus on the U.S. It's important to note that 95% of the trans-Atlantic slave trade went to the West Indies and Latin America, esp. Brazil.
